Another disappointing fail. I was on a roll for a while because if I saw a coyote, it was a successful hunt. Ever since I tried recording hunts, I am 0 for 3 on coyotes. I don’t get out much so I don’t have many shooting opportunities.
He was standing still when I first saw him, but I didn’t see him soon enough and he was running before I could be ready to fire. A 2nd pair of eyes would have been nice! Do I shoot quickly while it’s close and running before the call? I carry a rifle with optics, so this isn’t ideal. If I let them get too close, they often sniff the call and sprint away. If I had a do-over, I take the shot up close on the run or let him get closer to see if it would stop on it’s own..
Haha..what do you do?
